Designed as a very basic guide to identifying potential problems in your poultry, this short book features black-and-white photographs which are not for the squeamish (though in that regard they are mercifully blurry). Providing general advice on everything from fleas to mycoplasma (identified by sniffing the bird’s nostrils, as demonstrated by the author), and offering a particularly terrifying sketch of a bird post-Ventriculectomy (which seems to have given it fangs), this book may not be the most authoritative text on the subject ever written. In fact, the author shirk’s the idea of anyone getting in touch with him if there is a problem. But it is in any case an interesting ‘home doctor’ for fowl that serves an interesting look at recommended techniques from 20 years past.
